Open Path Design is a small studio specializing in graphic design, digital illustration, and stock image production. The studio is owned and operated by Mike McDonald. Mike is a full-time employee of UP Design LLC, a graphic design studio located in Montclair, New Jersey, and operates Open Path Design in his free time. Open Path produces and distributes stock imagery under affordable Royalty-Free licenses through the Open Path Design Store as well as through a variety of stock agencies (see below).

Mike McDonald is a full-time graphic designer and freelance designer, illustrator, and artist. After graduating from The College of New Jersey in December 2002, Mike spent some time as a Jr. Web Designer at That's Nice LLC, followed by a few short-term gigs with Murray Hill Properties, SqFt Marketing, and Real Estate Arts. He later worked for the monthly Clifton Merchant Magazine at Tomahawk Promotions, and in June 2004 began working at Wireless Generation designing websites, handheld device interfaces, and various other graphics for software applications through May 2006. He is the founder of MCD Media, a publishing studio that produced the local Parsippany Monthly Magazine in 2006 and 2007, and is currently a graphic designer with UP Design in Montclair, NJ.

Mike's illustration work is licensed through several stock agencies, including iStockphoto, 123RF, Veer, Crestock, Dreamstime, GraphicRiver, and Graphic Leftovers.

The name has a few meanings, none of which we are going to just throw out there. Think about it... it will come to you. And it's different for everyone.
